Unscramble Word Games
There's no question that for children, the world is a big puzzle which is to be unscrambled. This is the purpose of school isn't it? World Unscrambling. With that said, let me point out some of my favorite tools:
Word Unscramble is a popular word game that is a variation on other word games such as text twists, jumbles and anagrams.
Instructions: The object of the activity is to unscramble letters to form each of your spelling or vocabulary words. To create the words, you may click on each letter in order or click and drag the letters into the box below, then release the mouse button. Click the Hint button to hear the word read aloud. Word Unscramble is available as an online activity or you can create your own word finder printable worksheet from the game!
Or play Sentence Unscramble where you can unscramble words to form sentences. A good word unscrambler builds word skills at other word games like Jumble™, Boggle™, Scrabble™, and Words with Friends™, as well as word search puzzles.
VSC WordFind is a fun way to study your spelling and vocabulary words while searching for new words. How many words can you make using the letters in each word on your list? The more words you find and the faster you find them, the higher your score will be! You may even be ranked on the high score table!
HangMouse (Hangman) is a fun, friendly online hangman game for kids. Hangman games are a great way for students to practice their spelling words, and HangMouse is a favorite among VocabularySpellingCity users. HangMouse can be played on individual computers or on an interactive whiteboard as a group activity!
Another great game for learning is word search!
These games are available on SpellingCity, which also has vocabulary and writing! Many of the ideas for modern education were taught to me by a blog that I read about Todays-Learners. Here's some interesting articles from it that I'd recommend:
